YEAR 9 OPTIONS

In December/January, pupils will have presentations from teachers who deliver new subjects at GCSE during morning assemblies. 

Parents/carers will receive a comprehensive subject report on Thursday 19th December 2025 and this will be most valuable in informing option discussions. Following the report, the Year 9 Parents' Evening will take place on Thursday 15th January 2026. This will be face-to-face, in school. 

Our highly informative Options Fair will take place in school between 3:15pm and 5:15pm on Thursday 29th January 2026. This will give parents/carers the opportunity to discuss subject options with teaching staff and current Year 11 pupils. Your child will also have visited the Fair during the day to discuss subjects with our current Year 10 GCSE pupils.

Final options choices will be made via our electronic option form in February. However, prior to this in January our pupils will also be asked to complete a provisional options questionnaire. This will allow us to review individual choices and numbers/ staffing requirements. This will not be the pupils’ final choices.

We know how important the options process is and understand that pupils and parents/carers may have some queries and concerns. Please feel assured that we will support all our pupils throughout this time and contact the school if you would like any further support and advice.
